Description
A Lladro porcelain figurine titled Girl with Mother’s Shoe, model number 1084. The figure depicts a young girl with pigtails wearing a long-sleeved nightgown and leaning against a large, diamond-quilted ottoman. Her right foot is inserted into an oversized high-heeled pump and rests upon a small rectangular pillow. The figurine is finished with a high-gloss glaze in a palette of soft grays, whites, and muted earth tones. The underside of the base features a blue underglaze factory mark consisting of a stylized bell symbol above the name LLADRÓ and the words HAND MADE IN SPAIN. Several artisan marks are incised into the porcelain base, including the letters DB, the numeral 6, an X-shaped mark, and a character resembling a 7. This retired model was designed by sculptor Francisco Catala.
Dimensions: 8.5 x 6 x 3 inches.
Condition report:
The figurine is in excellent condition. A visual inspection shows no chips, cracks, or evidence of professional repair to the delicate edges of the veil or the extremities. There is minor surface shelf wear and light soiling on the unglazed foot rim of the base.
