Description
This mixed media painting on paper, incorporating ink with watercolor or gouache, features a highly stylized modernist human figure set against abstract vertical forms suggestive of a landscape. The work is executed in an expressionistic style with bold, gestural black outlines and a palette consisting of yellow, orange, and blue tones over a reddish-brown background. The composition is centered on a toned wove paper sheet. Below the primary image, the work is inscribed in pencil with the name Goodbourn and titled SURPRISE! in block letters. Condition report:
