Description
A decorative figure of a kneeling Thepphanom, a celestial guardian being from the Thai Buddhist tradition. The statue is depicted with hands pressed together in the anjali mudra, a gesture of respect and prayer. It is constructed of cast resin or composite material with an applied antiqued finish designed to mimic the appearance of aged bronze or stone. The figure is adorned with raised-relief regalia, including a traditional tall, pointed chada headdress, tiered necklaces, armbands, and a patterned lower garment. No marks or signatures are visible on the base or body.
Dimensions: 11 X 5 X 4.5 inch.
Condition report:
Good decorative condition with surface wear consistent with age. Areas of finish loss are visible on the underside and knees, exposing the lighter interior material. Minor dust accumulation is present in the recessed areas.
