The vessel is decorated in underglaze blue against a white ground, featuring a continuous scene of large ornate birds, likely phoenixes or pheasants, amidst blooming peony flowers and scrolling foliage. The upper and lower edges are finished with stylized ruyi-head and geometric borders. The underside of the base bears a square apocryphal seal mark in underglaze blue consisting of four characters in a stylized script. Additionally, a gold-toned oval adhesive label is present, which reads Andrea BY Sadek MADE IN JAPAN.
Dimensions: 4 X 4 X 10 inch.
Condition report:
The vase is in good overall condition. There is minor shelf wear to the unglazed foot rim and light surface soiling. A small dark iron spot inclusion is visible on the white porcelain body, which is a characteristic of the firing process. No chips, cracks, or restorations are observed.
