Description

This hand-painted porcelain plate is decorated in a Renaissance-revival style. The square form features rounded corners and a wide, upturned rim. The central square panel is finished with a terracotta-red ground and decorated with large, scrolling acanthus leaves in ochre and cream tones radiating from a central fleur-de-lis motif. The wide border has a cream ground with red foliate scrolls and ochre floral elements. A yellow-orange band defines the outer edge and the transition between the border and the central panel. The reverse includes several markings: the hand-written words Made in Italy in black script, a circular stamp with the letters T V S C A arranged in an arc over a central crest containing a stylized four-legged animal facing left with the letter A below, and a partial hand-written inscription reading Painted 1/2.

Condition report:

The plate is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or professional repairs. A small adhesive auction label is present on the front upper-left border. A wire hanger is attached to the reverse.
