Description
A decorative lidded vessel designed and handmade by Maitland-Smith Ltd. in Thailand. The piece is constructed from brass with a dark brown to black patinated finish. The vessel features a bulbous, rounded form with a removable lid. The lid is decorated with a radiating fluted design and is surmounted by a spherical finial. The underside of the base exhibits a textured finish of concentric circular lines. A gold foil label is affixed to the bottom, reading DESIGNED AND HAND MADE IN THAILAND BY MAITLAND-SMITH LTD. A small white rectangular sticker with the handwritten characters 2153-169 is also present on the base.

Condition report:
The vessel is in good overall condition with signs of age and handling. The dark patina shows some mottling and scattered surface scratches. There is visible wear to the finish along the bottom foot rim, revealing the underlying yellow brass.
