Description
This ornate rectangular picture frame is constructed from cast metal with a brass or bronze-toned finish. The frame features a wide, pierced border executed in the Rococo Revival style, consisting of elaborate C-scrolls, foliate motifs, and acanthus leaf flourishes. The intricate openwork design is further embellished with small, raised spherical accents throughout the border. A rectangular glass pane is fitted within the central aperture. The reverse features a dark brown paper or composite-covered backing board equipped with a matching easel-back stand. There are no visible maker marks or signatures on the item.
Dimensions: 15.5 X 12 X 3 inch.
Condition report:
The metal displays a dark, aged patina with dust accumulation in the deep recesses of the casting. The backing board and easel show signs of age-related wear, including surface scuffs and minor abrasions to the paper covering. The glass is intact.
