Description
This folio-sized edition of Herman Melville’s Moby Dick; Or, The Whale was published in 1975 by The Artist’s Limited Edition. The volume features paintings by LeRoy Neiman and a preface by Jacques-Yves Cousteau. It is bound in brown quarter-leather over beige cloth-covered boards. The front cover features a prominent gold-stamped illustration depicting a harpooning scene. The spine is designed with five raised bands, creating six compartments with gilt-stamped lettering and the publisher’s stylized AE logo at the foot. The title page is printed in black on heavy cream-colored paper.
Dimensions: 15 X 12 X 2.5 inch.
Condition report:
The binding is structurally sound with light surface soiling and toning to the cloth boards. The title page shows a rectangular area of faint browning or offsetting in the upper center.
